Hello.  My name is David Brooks and I am running for the City Council At-Large seat in the upcoming McKinney election.  I have a passion for this great city and believe I can make valuable contributions as we plot a course for the future.
 
 
My service as president of the McKinney Independent School District Board, member of the McKinney Economic Development Corporation Board, Chamber of Commerce Board and other civic and community leadership has provided me with a broad and unique understanding of our city.  My professional experience as a banker and CFO at Baylor University provide me with important experience for these unprecedented and challenging economic times.
 
 
With your help, we can focus on these important issues:
 
  1. ★Increase the commercial tax base to minimize the tax burden on residents
  2. ★Address transportation issues to increase mobility
  3. ★Keep our neighborhoods safe for you and your family
  4. ★Maintain and improve quality of life by investing in public recreation facilities, our park system and improved infrastructure
 
 
I ask for your support and vote as I seek to serve as your City Council At-Large member.  I will bring a fresh voice and new perspective to the leadership of the city as I work on your behalf.
 
 
Our election is May 9, 2009. Early voting begins April 27, 2009.
